For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHIEF OF POLICE. The Town Chief of Police or his or her designee.
GOLF CART. As defined by G.S. § 20-4.01(12b), or any successor statutory definition. As of the passage date of the ordinance from which this subchapter is derived, such definition reads as follows: “A vehicle designed and manufactured for operation on a golf course for sporting or recreational purposes and that is not capable of exceeding speeds of 20 mph.”
OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED. Authoritative permission or approval that makes a course of action valid.
OPERATE. To drive or be in physical control of a golf cart that is moving or has its key inserted and in the on position.
PUBLIC STREETS AND ROADS. Those streets, roads, and highways owned and/or maintained by the town, including any associated right-of-way.
TOWN. The Town of Pink Hill, North Carolina.
