11-6F-4: ACCESSORY USES:
Accessory uses, as hereinafter enumerated, may be allowed in the HD heritage district. The following constitute the only accessory uses allowed in the HD heritage district:
Children's playhouses.
Garages, carports, and other parking facilities.
Gazebos and other similar structures.
Greenhouses, private.
Horses, subject to the following standards and conditions:
   A.   The property upon which horses are kept or maintained shall be no less than five (5) contiguous acres.
   B.   The subject property shall be under single ownership.
   C.   Up to two (2) horses shall be allowed on a qualifying five (5) acre property, plus one more horse for each additional acre of property to a maximum of five (5) horses.
   D.   Each horse shall be owned by the property owner. No animal shall be boarded for hire or used for the giving of lessons in horsemanship.
   E.   The keeping and maintenance of the property and these animals shall not be allowed to become a nuisance to other proximate residents and the village, generally. Due care shall be required to prevent odor and noise from emanating from the subject property.
   F.   All such animals shall be restrained or fenced.
Swimming pools and tennis courts.
Tool houses, sheds and other similar buildings.
Other uses which are similar and compatible to those allowed as accessory uses in this section. Determination of what constitutes similar and compatible shall be made by the village board. (Ord. 2004-02, 2-2-2004; amd. Ord. 2005-37, 12-5-2005; 2011 Code)
