§ 71.37 DEFINITIONS.

   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.

   COMMERCIAL TRAFFIC. 

      (1)   (a)   Any vehicle with three or more axles (excluding utility/light weight trailers) engaged in interstate or intrastate commerce and while bearing a load;

         (b)   Any combination of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the GVWR of the vehicle or vehicles being towed is in excess of 10,001 pounds; or

         (c)   Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more; and

      (2)   A towed unit that has a GVWR of less than 10,001 pounds.
