§ 52.061 MAINTENANCE OF CONNECTION.
The owner of any building or private sewer connected to the city’s sewer system shall be responsible for its maintenance. In the event of a maintenance need, the owner shall first make all reasonable attempts, including the engagement of a plumber, to have the necessary work performed at his or her expense. Only then may the Municipal Utility Commission assist as it is able and at a fee established by it. In the case of a private sewer not having an outside cleanout, and for which the Commission agrees to provide a maintenance service, the Commission shall install a cleanout at the owner’s expense.
