Each of the officers provided for in this subchapter shall take and subscribe to the following oath:
“I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Illinois and faithfully perform the duties of the office of (name of office) as prescribed by ordinance and the statutes of the State of Illinois, to the best of my ability, so help me God.”
and each officer shall serve the term of one year and until their successors are elected and qualified.
