(A) Auxiliary policemen shall not be members of the regular Police Department of this city. Identification symbols worn by such auxiliary policemen shall be different and distinct from those used by the regular Police Department and shall be selected and chosen by the Chief of Police.
(B) Auxiliary policemen shall, at all times during the performance of their duties, be subject to the direction and control of the Chief of Police, or a sworn police officer designated by him or her. Auxiliary officers shall not be conservators of the peace and shall not possess or exercise conservator of the peace powers.
