§ 32.27 APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS; TERMS AND VACANCIES.
   (A)   The Joint Planning Commission shall consist of nine (9) members. The County Judge/Executive of Pike County and the Mayors of the cities of Elkhorn City and Pikeville, with the approval of their respective legislative bodies, shall appoint two (2) members each or a total of six (6) members to be known as citizen members and one (1) member each or a total of three (3) members shall be known as ex-officio members shall be as follows: the County Judge/Executive of Pike County and the Mayor of each participating city; one of the administrative officials of the county and each participating city, selected by the Judge/Executive and the appropriate Mayor, respectively; or a member of each legislative body selected by that body.
   (B)   All members of the Commission shall serve without compensation, but reimbursement of expenses may be authorized. The term of office of ex-officio members shall correspond to their respective official tenure. The term of office of citizen member shall be four (4) years, except that the original terms shall be staggered so that a proportionate number serve one (1), two (2), three (3) and four (4) years respectively. Reappointments shall continue the staggered pattern.
   (C)   All vacancies whether by resignation, dismissal, or expiration of the term of office shall be filled within sixty (60) days by the appropriate appointing authority or as otherwise provided for in KRS 100.147.
