For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CIVIL EMERGENCY. Any disaster, calamity, catastrophe, cataclysm, flood, snowstorm, act of terrorism or other event or situation, whether caused by humans or nature which presents:
(1) An immediate danger of injury to persons or property within the town;
(2) An immediate interference with providing fire, police and emergency medical services within the town; or
(3) An immediate interference to the ability of the town to keep streets within the town open or safe for use, to such an extent that extraordinary measures must be taken to protect the public health, safety and welfare.
CURFEW. An order prohibiting any person or persons in general from being upon or motoring upon any alley, street, highway or public property or vacant premises within the town, excepting persons officially designated to duty with reference to a civil emergency.
EVACUATION. An order requiring persons on property to leave and vacate or to be removed from a geographical area of the town, and further prohibiting persons from entering such geographical area of the town during a civil emergency, excepting persons officially designated to duty with reference to said civil emergency.
PRESIDENT. The President of the Town Council.
QUARANTINE. An order, during a civil emergency, prohibiting persons from leaving or entering a designated geographical area of the town, excepting persons officially designated to duty with reference to said civil emergency.
TOWN. The Town of Pierceton, Indiana.
VICE PRESIDENT. The Vice President of the Town Council.
