§ 31.29 BEREAVEMENT LEAVE.
   (A)   Eligible employee classifications include regular full-time employees after 90 days of continuous employment.
   (B)   Up to three days of paid bereavement leave may be provided to eligible employees in the event of a death of their spouse, child or stepchild, parent or stepparent, or sibling. One-day of paid bereavement leave may be provided to eligible employees in the event of a death of grandparents, grandchildren or step grandchildren, mother or father in-laws, sister or brother in-laws, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews or cousins.
   (C)   Employees may, with their department heads’ approval, use any available vacation benefits for additional time off as necessary. Unpaid time off may be granted at the discretion of the department head or the Clerk-Treasurer.
   (D)   Bereavement leave pay is paid at the employee’s current pay rate at the time of the bereavement leave and may not exceed the total number of hours normally worked on the days that the paid bereavement leave is used. Bereavement leave will be paid at the employee’s current pay rate at the time of the absence and will be included in the calculation of overtime.
