The Fire Chief shall hold office for a period of two years, at which time he or she shall be re-elected or replaced. However, so that adequate discipline may be maintained, the Chief shall have the authority to grant a leave of absence when on duty if he or she thinks it proper, for disobedience of orders or contempt of the bylaws, rules and regulations on the part of any member.
