§ 139.08 POLICE OFFICER’S RESPONSIBILITIES.
   (a)   Regular working hours for the members of the Police Department shall be assigned by the Chief. Members are subject to recall by the Chief in emergency situations as he or she deems necessary.
   (b)   No member of the Department shall be absent from his or her duties without permission from the Chief. In the event of illness or other valid reason, the member should give sufficient notice to allow the vacancy to be filled.
   (c)   No member of the Department on regular patrol shall go beyond the corporate limits of the city, except upon direct order from the Chief or while in hot pursuit of a felony.
   (d)   Sleeping or loafing on duty will be grounds for suspension or dismissal.
   (e)   No alcoholic beverages shall be consumed while on duty.
   (f)   Members of the Department shall be responsible for the care of all Department property and shall report promptly to the Chief the loss, damage to, or unserviceable condition of such property.
   (g)   Any member found guilty of damages to or destruction or theft of city property, whether through willfulness, negligence, roughness, or carelessness, shall be required to pay all costs of repairs or replacement, in addition to any penalty imposed.
