§ 1305.01 GENERAL.
   Unless a contrary intention clearly appears, the following words and phrases shall have for the purpose of this ordinance the meanings given in the following clauses and shall be interpreted as follows.
   (a)   Words used or defined in one tense or form shall include other tenses and derivative forms.
   (b)   All words in the singular shall include the plural, and all words in the plural shall include the singular.
   (c)   The masculine gender shall include the feminine and the feminine gender shall include the masculine.
   (d)   The term “shall” is always mandatory.
   (e)   The term “may” is permissive.
   (f)   The word “lot” includes plot or parcel.
   (g)   The word “building” includes the word structure and shall be construed as if followed by the phase “or part thereof”.
   (h)   The words “used for” shall include “arranged for”, “designed for”, “intended for”, “maintained for”, “constructed for” or “occupied for”.
   (i)   The word “person” includes individuals, firms, corporations, associations, trusts and any other similar entities.
   (j)   The word “city” means Philippi, West Virginia.
