(a) General penalty: whoever violates any provision of this article for which no other . penalty is provided upon conviction shall be fined not more than $500. Each day such violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
(b) Whoever violates §§ 517.01(a) or 517.06 upon conviction shall be fined not more than $250.
(c) Whoever violates § 517.01(b) upon conviction for a first offense shall be fined not more than $100, and upon a conviction for a second offense shall be fined not more than $250.
(d) Whoever violates § 517.08 upon conviction for a first offense shall be fined not more than $500, and upon a conviction for a second or subsequent offense such person shall be fined not more than $1,000.
