No officer, agent or employee of said City shall be pecuniarily interested, either directly or indirectly, in any contract, sale or purchase for or on behalf of the City, or in the proceeds of any improvements made by or on behalf of the City, nor shall he receive, directly or indirectly, any compensation for his services rendered on behalf of the City, other than herein specified.
