The Water Commissioner shall have charge of the maintenance, repair and operation of the water distribution system of the city, and of all intakes, wells, reservoirs, mains, hydrants and other appurtenances thereto. He or she shall be in charge of meter reading and construction of new water and sewer lines and he or she shall coordinate planned activities with the City Manager. Included in his or her duties are installation, purchasing and signing work orders; and in addition he or she shall perform such other duties as may be assigned to him or her by the Mayor and Council.
