CHAPTER 20-100.  GENERAL PROVISIONS
§  20-101.  Residence Requirements. 1
   (1)   Every employee in the civil service shall establish his or her bona fide residence in the City within six months of his or her appointment, and shall thereafter maintain bona fide residence in the City, except that no person shall be appointed as a laborer in the civil service of the City unless he or she has been a bona fide resident of the City for at least one year prior to his or her appointment. The City Controller may require proof of the residence of any employee in the civil service.
   (2)   The Civil Service Commission may, upon the request of the Personnel Director, waive 2 the above residence qualifications when in its discretion the circumstances warrant a waiver.
§ 20-102.  Oaths of Office. 3
   (1)   All persons elected or appointed to or employed in any City office shall, before entering upon the duties of their office or employment, take the following oath of office:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of this Commonwealth and the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter and that I will discharge the duties of _______________ with fidelity."
§ 20-103.  Facsimile Signatures. 4
   (1)   The Administrative Board may authorize any officer or employee to execute or attest any plans, agreements, contracts, bonds or other City records, as defined in Section 5-1100 of the Charter, by facsimile signature in lieu of manual signature. Such facsimile signature shall have the same effect as a manual signature.
