At every intersection where a yield sign is displayed, vehicles traveling the street or alley upon which the same is located shall, on reaching said intersection, ascertain that there is no vehicular traffic approaching from either street coming into said intersection, and shall not enter or cross the intersection street until the way is clear of pedestrians and approaching traffic.
