§ 158.42 DESIGN REVIEW PROCESS: HOW IT WORKS.
   (A)   Building owners need to obtain and complete a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) application prior to making exterior changes to buildings in the Downtown Peru Local Historic District.
   (B)   Before planning a project to the exterior of a building, the owner should contact the Building and Zoning Department. It is beneficial to contact the Building and Zoning Department before an owner begins project planning for several reasons:
      (1)   The Building and Zoning Department can help assess if a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) is necessary for the project.
      (2)   If a COA is needed, the Building and Zoning Department can provide the application.
      (3)   The Building and Zoning Department can assist in the planning phase to make sure the project is appropriate to the historic character of the building.
   (C)   The COA application is simple to complete, and the Building and Zoning Department is available to help.
