§ 52.12 ONE-TIME CHARGES FOR PERU WATER DEPARTMENT SERVICES.
   (A)   New tap. When a customer requires a new tap onto Peru Utilities water lines, the fees applicable are as follows:
      (1)   A 5/8-inch or 3/4-inch tap where a street cut is required: $2,000
      (2)   A 5/8-inch or 3/4-inch tap where no street cut is required: $1,000
      (3)   A 1-inch tap where a street cut is required: $2,200
      (4)   A 1-inch tap where no street cut is required: $1,200
   (B)   Reconnect during business hours. Customers whose water is disconnected for reasons other than by customer request (i.e., non-payment of services, returned checks, unsafe conditions within the premises, etc.), shall pay the following charge to reconnect between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: $40
   (C)   Reconnect after business hours. Customers whose water is disconnected for reasons other than by customer request shall pay the following charge to reconnect after regular business hours, which are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or on weekends or holidays: $92
   (D)   Returned check fee. When a check payment is rejected for non-sufficient funds, account close, account blocked, or for any other reason, and the Peru Utilities account is debited for the check, the charge to a customer shall be: $25
   (E)   Meter testing during business hours. Peru Utilities will perform a test of a customer’s water meter, at the customer’s request, without charge if the meter has not been tested within the previous 12 months. For each additional test within a 12-month period the charge will be:
      (1)   When the test is performed by Peru Utilities: $56
      (2)   When the test is performed by a third party: time and materials
   (F)   Water taken from water plant. When a customer purchases water directly from the water plant, such as water for filling a swimming pool, the customer shall pay the water consumption rate and shall pay the following per load charge: $35
   (G)   Disconnect list fee. When a customer’s non- payment for services results in a disconnect order, and the technician leaves the office to perform the disconnect, but the disconnect is not made because of customer action, the following fee shall be paid: $27
   (H)   Water meter tamper fee. When a customer has tampered with a water meter, the customer shall be charged as estimated water usage fee, and shall also be charged the following fee:
      (1)   For a first offense: $137
      (2)   For a second offense: $274
      (3)   For a third offense: $411
   (I)   Temporary users. Customers who are temporarily consuming water and Peru Utility water personnel must provide temporary metering to measure water usage and shall pay the following additional fee: $133 per meter
   (J)   Temporary turn-on/turn-off/active service after business hours. When an active customer requires a temporary turn-on or turn-off for repairs after business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday), weekends and holidays, the charge below shall apply. However, the charge does not apply for leaks in a customer’s lines between the meter and the house. The fee shall be: $71
