§ 153.07 NUMBERING HOUSES AND BUILDINGS WITH ALLEYS.
Every house and building the back of which faces an alley shall have affixed to it the street number designation for the home or building, which shall be the same number as is required to be affixed to the front of the building by § 153.01. The numbers shall be affixed to the garage or, if there is no garage, to a fence, outbuilding or other structure that is nearest the alley. If there is no structure between the home or building and the alley, then the numbers shall be displayed in a conspicuous place on the back of the home or building. When affixed to a garage, outbuilding or fence near the alley, the numbers shall be mounted between four and six feet from ground level in order that they may be immediately visible from the seat of an emergency or police vehicle. When mounted on a fence or building more than ten feet from the alley, this height requirement does not apply. The numbers shall be at least four inches high with a reflective backing which makes the numbers easily visible to emergency responders.
