(A) In addition to a Traffic Violations Bureau established under PMC § 74.01, there shall be created an Ordinance Violations Bureau pursuant to IC 33-36-1-1 et seq., as amended, for the city.
(B) The City Legal Department is appointed to administer the Bureau and the City Attorney shall appoint a Violations Clerk, who shall handle the day to day affairs of the Bureau. The City Attorney may appoint the Clerk-Treasurer or an employee in the Clerk-Treasurer's office as the Violations Clerk or as a deputy violations clerk.
(C) The Violations Clerk as an agent of the City Attorney, shall accept written appearances, waivers of trial, admissions of violations, and payment of civil penalties of not more than$250. In the absence of the duly appointed Violations Clerk, the City Attorney may appoint a temporary replacement, who may be an employee of the City of Peru who normally functions in a different position.
(D) All funds collected by the Ordinance Violations Bureau shall be remitted to the Clerk-Treasurer and be accounted for as provided by law.
