(A) From the first day of employment, all the city employees are covered with insurance against medical expenses arising from work-related illnesses or accidents. This insurance also provides for a percentage of lost wages for civil city employees due to accidents and illness related to work. These benefits start seven days from the date of disability.
(B) Police and Fire Department employees receive disability insurance under INPRS and are required to follow the appropriate processes under that policy.
(C) NOTE: Employees who sustain a work-related injury or illness must inform a member of management immediately. This will enable eligible employees to qualify for coverage as quickly as possible.
