The city is directed by law to make certain deductions from your paycheck. Among these are applicable federal, state, and local income taxes. We also must deduct Social Security taxes on your earnings up to a specified limit. We match the amount of Social Security taxes you pay. Court-ordered payments such as garnishments are pay deductions collected and forwarded to the courts. We will handle garnishments as required by law.
