416.05 USE OF SIDEWALKS AND STREETS.
   (a)    "Roadway," as used in this section, means the paved portion of a public road.
   (b)    Any pedestrian walking, running or jogging along and upon a roadway shall walk, run or jog as near as practical to an outside edge of the roadway, and if on a two-way roadway, shall walk, run or jog only on the left side facing vehicular traffic approaching from the opposite direction.
   (c)    In the case of two or more pedestrians walking, jogging or running along and upon a roadway, subsection (b) hereof shall apply, and each pedestrian shall proceed in single file when vehicular traffic approaches from the opposite direction.
   (d)   During the time from one-half hour before sunset to one-half hour after sunrise, and at other times when there are unfavorable atmospheric conditions (including insufficient natural light) which prevent persons from being clearly discernible at a distance of 300 feet, every pedestrian while in the roadway shall wear, between neck and waist, material such as a vest, sash band or tape which is reflectorized so as to be clearly discernible at night at a distance of 300 feet.
   (e)    Where a sidewalk is provided and its use is practical, any pedestrian walking shall walk on such sidewalk.
   (f)    Except as otherwise provided in Sections 414.03 and 416.01, any pedestrian upon a roadway shall yield the right of way to all vehicles on the roadway.

   (g)   Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
