267.02-1 PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATION.
Each person, other than summer seasonal employees, prior to beginning work for the City, shall be required to undergo a medical examination by an examining physician or physicians selected by the Mayor. The medical examiner shall report and certify to the Mayor whether such person is physically and mentally capable of performing the services required of the position to which he/she is being appointed. The medical examination shall be at the expense of the City. If the medical examiner reports that such person is not physically and/or mentally capable or performing the service required of the position to which he is being appointed, then such person is not eligible for employment with the City in that position. This paragraph applies to individuals not covered by the Personnel Policy and bargaining unit employees not represented by employee organizations at the time such medical examinations are given.
