1082.01 Burial or cremation at City expense.
Fort Meigs Cemetery is operated as a union cemetery jointly by the City of Perrysburg and Perrysburg Township, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 759.27 et seq. Joint meetings between the Perrysburg City Council and Perrysburg Board of Township Trustees are held pursuant to Ohio R.C. 759.34 and 759.35, and the vote and records thereof are as provided for by Ohio R.C. 759.37.
The control and management of the Fort Meigs Union Cemetery is vested in a Board of Cemetery Trustees, elected pursuant to Ohio R.C. 759.36, which is presently composed of a member of the Perrysburg City Council, a member of the Perrysburg Board of Township Trustees and a third member of the Cemetery Board who is elected by a joint vote of Council and the Township Trustees. The powers and duties of the Cemetery Board of Trustees are defined in Ohio R.C. 759.36 and include those exercised by a service director under Ohio R.C. 759.09 to 759.18, inclusive.
The Mayor and Police Division of the City of Perrysburg have complete jurisdiction and authority to enforce all ordinances, rules and regulations, as if Fort Meigs Cemetery were owned exclusively by the City of Perrysburg.
