The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the owner of a single family owner occupied residence who intends to install a driveway or storm culvert in their own residence which requires a curb cut or a cut of the sidewalk, except as stated hereinafter. All work performed under this section shall comply with the requirements of Sections 901.03 and 901.04. Prior to commencement of any work performed pursuant to this section the home owner shall contact the Village Road Superintendent, either in person or in writing, and notify him of their intention to perform a curb cut or cut of a sidewalk and further shall notify the Village Road Superintendent upon completion of all work performed to insure the proper performance of the work pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
