(a) General Penalty. Unless otherwise provided, whoever violates any provision of this chapter or Chapter 353 is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
(b) Parking Fines. Notwithstanding the provisions of division (a) hereof, whoever violates any provision of Chapters 351 or 353 and who has received notice to appear in answer to such violation other than an arrest warrant may waive for a lesser amount his or her parking violation by paying the amount as hereafter set forth.
(1) For violations of Chapters 351 or 353; except 351.03 (a)(14), 351.04 (f)(1), 351.16, within thirty days of the time when the notice was issued to such vehicle, the owner or operator shall pay to the Police Department fifteen dollars ($15.00).
(2) For violations of Sections 351.03 (a)(14), 351.04 (f)(1), 351.16, within thirty days of the time when the notice was issued to such vehicle, the owner or operator shall pay to the Police Department forty dollars ($40.00).
(3) Such waivers shall be paid if the owner or operator so elects for each such issued notice of parking violation, and such payment shall be effective as payment of a penalty for and in full satisfaction of each such violation.
(4) Each and every notice of violation issued to such vehicle on any one day while such vehicle remains parked beyond the allowed period shall constitute notice of and render the owner or operator of such vehicle liable for a separate violation. The failure of such owner or operator to pay the parking violation waiver as provided herein within the time set forth herein shall render the owner or operator subject to the penalties as provided for in division (a) hereof.
