The Perry County Auditor shall establish the Inmate Housing Fund as a non-reverting fund. All payments received by the Perry County Sheriff for housing inmates from other county jails or detention centers shall be deposited into this fund. All amounts deposited into this fund shall be accumulated and remain in this fund, along with any and all interest derived therefrom, and such fund shall be a non- reverting fund. Amounts accumulated in this fund may be expended by the Perry County Sheriff only after proper appropriation by the Perry County Council and for the following costs and uses:
(A) All costs incurred and associated with housing inmates from jurisdictions other than Perry County;
(B) For expenses of operating the Perry County Detention Center including, but not limited to, salaries, maintenance, repair, and replacement of portions of the Perry County Detention Center; and
(C) For the purchase of necessary equipment and vehicles for use by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.
