§ 90.036  LOST OR STRAY ANIMALS.
   (A)   Persons finding a stray animal shall notify the Animal Control Officer or shelter within 48 hours of finding the animal. The County Animal Control Officer shall inspect or scan the animal to determine ownership. The Animal Control Officer shall return the animal to its rightful owner subject to a fee structure set by the Board.
   (B)   Any lost or stray animal that has been found shall be held for a minimum of three days, before a disposition is made, unless the animal needs to be euthanized for humanitarian purposes upon the decision of a veterinarian (if available) or the Board’s designee due to the animal’s mental or physical condition to prevent suffering.
   (C)   Persons finding an animal are obligated to comply with all rules and regulations of this ordinance pertaining to humane care and treatment of animals while said animal is in their custody awaiting return of the animal to its actual owner.
