The Planning Commission shall consist of seven members who shall represent, insofar as possible, different professions or occupations. One or more member shall be a member of Council, to be selected by resolution of Council, to serve as a member ex officio, and whose term shall be determined by Council and shall be stated in the resolution selecting the ex officio member, but the term shall not exceed the member’s term as a Councilperson. The Councilperson appointed as ex officio member herein shall have full voting rights. Not more than one-third of the members shall be a member of Council. One member may be a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, whose term shall not exceed the member’s term as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals. The members shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the approval of Council. The term of each member of the Commission shall be for three years. All members of the Planning Commission shall receive compensation as determined from time to time by resolution of the City Council for each regular and/or special meeting which they attend, not to exceed 12 meetings per year.
