A fee shall be charged for repetitious false alarm calls due to faulty smoke/fire detection systems, or repeated calls for service. These fees shall apply within a twelve (12) month period, beginning with the date of the first false alarm when no apparent fire, smoke or other reason for the response is evident. The following schedule will apply to false alarm calls within the city limits or for rural fire subscribers located within the rural fire district. A fee will not be assessed for the first two (2) false alarms. A fee as established by resolution of the city commission shall be assessed for each third and fourth false alarm, and all subsequent false alarm calls will be charged a fee as established by resolution of the city commission for each call. The fee for false alarm calls for nonsubscription properties in the rural fire district shall be set by resolution of the city commission for the second and all subsequent false alarms.
