A. Appointment; Probation: All members of the volunteer fire department shall be appointed by the city manager, who shall make said appointment only upon receiving a recommendation of a majority of the members of the fire department. All new members of the volunteer fire department shall be on probation for one year from the date of their appointment.
B. Departmental Approval Required: New volunteer members, upon completion of their probation period, must be approved by the majority of the fire department.
C. Number Conform To State Law: The number of volunteer firefighters shall conform to state law. (2010 Code § 1-42)
