A fee of eighty dollars ($80.00) shall be submitted with the original application and each renewal thereafter, which fee shall be retained by the City and credited to the General Fund regardless of whether or not the license is issued. Such license shall be valid for the calendar year in which it is issued. If the contractor has engaged in the business, performed any work or acted in the capacity of a contractor within the City without first being duly licensed by the City to perform such work, the license fee shall be twice the amount provided herein.
