The Service Department is hereby authorized to replace without charge, with the consent of the resident, a resident’s mailbox which has been damaged or destroyed by a City snow plow that has struck the mailbox. The Service Department shall not replace, without charge, mailboxes that are damaged or destroyed by snow or snow removal activities that do not involve a City snow plow striking the mailbox. The replacement mailbox authorized by this section shall be a standard City mailbox and, in providing this replacement mailbox service, the City makes no warranties or guarantees regarding either the mailbox or its installation.
