(a) Each member of the Police Department shall be entitled to an annual cash uniform maintenance allowance in the amount of four hundred dollars ($400.00). Such allowance shall be payable to regular members of the Police Department in amounts of one-fourth of said annual allowance with the member’s last pay in March, June, September and December. Uniform purchases shall be limited to six hundred dollars ($600.00) per year and must be approved in advance by the Chief. First year uniform allowances for new employees will be determined by the Chief and the Mayor and the six hundred dollar ($600.00) limitation will not apply.
(b) Full-time Dispatchers, the Police Administrative Assistant and the Assistant Clerk of Police Records shall receive an allowance for uniform purchases of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per year and a uniform maintenance allowance of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per year. Part-time Dispatchers shall receive a small amount to be determined by the Chief and the Mayor.
