The Service Director shall function under the direction and control of the Mayor and shall be responsible for the care, maintenance and repair of all public streets within the Municipality, including snow removal. He or she shall also be responsible for the care and maintenance of all Municipal property and public grounds, such as parking lots, cemeteries, center strips between divided streets, and street circles. During the summer season he or she shall keep weeds removed and grass trimmed so that such public property and grounds are always neat and attractive in appearance. He or she shall also be responsible for the collection and removal of garbage and rubbish from the homes of residents in the City in accordance with ordinances and other regulations adopted by the Municipality. The Service Director shall also be responsible for the care, maintenance and repair of all City equipment and machinery, exclusive of Fire Department and Police Department machinery and equipment. The Service Director shall also be responsible for the care, maintenance and repair of all storm and sanitary sewers and water mains, including fire hydrants, within the Municipality. The Service Director shall perform such other duties as the Mayor may direct.
