250.15 COMPENSATORY TIME IN LIEU OF OVERTIME PAY.
   (a)   Employees in positions identified herein as being eligible for compensatory time off in lieu of overtime payment may elect to take compensatory time off in lieu of overtime pay for any overtime worked on a time and one-half basis at a time approved by the Department Head of the employee. The employee is permitted to use the compensatory time at the employee’s discretion within a reasonable time after the time the compensatory time is earned provided the absence due to the compensatory time will not impose an unreasonable burden on the department’s ability to provide services of acceptable quality and quantity for the public during the time requested.
   (b)   Accumulated compensatory time shall be limited to forty (40) hours. Unused accumulated compensatory time shall be paid as overtime pay to the employee at the end of the calendar year in which it was earned or at the termination of the employee’s employment with the City, whichever is earlier. Compensatory time off may be used in increments of not less than fifteen minutes.
   (c)   Employees in the following positions are eligible for compensatory time in lieu of overtime payment upon the terms and conditions set forth in this Section:
      (1)   Bookkeeper - A/P;
      (2)   Bookkeeper/Payroll;
      (3)   Service Department Administrative Assistant, Drivers, Laborers and Assistant Service Director;
      (4)   Building Department Administrative Assistant;
      (5)   Police Department Administrative Assistant; and
      (6)   Fire Department Administrative Assistant.
