250.10 INJURY LEAVE.
   A full time employee who suffers a work related injury which would be compensable under Workers’ Compensation Laws shall be entitled to paid injury leave not to exceed ninety (90) calendar days the first seven (7) of which will be deducted from the employee’s accumulated sick leave provided a physician approved by the City certifies that the employee is unable to work due to the work-related injury. The Mayor may extend the paid injury leave of an employee for additional time periods not to cumulatively exceed an additional 90 days. Injury leave shall terminate when the employee is:
   (a)   Declared capable of performing his/her normal duties by a physician approved by the City or
   (b)   If prior to release for normal duties is determined by a physician approved by the City that the employee is capable of performing limited work assignments and the employee’s Department Head determines that limited work assignments are available for the employee.
