1630.01 FIRE INSPECTION; ORDERS TO CORRECT HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS.
   (a)    Under the direction of the Mayor, the Fire Department shall inspect or cause to be inspected, as provided in Section 1440.02(c), the various buildings in the City for the purpose of ascertaining whether proper precautions are being taken for the prevention of fire. If it is found that conditions are caused or permitted to exist which are dangerous and likely to cause a fire in any such buildings so inspected, the owner, tenant or person in possession of such property, or the agent for such property, shall be ordered to correct the condition within a time stated in the order and such person shall comply with the order without delay.

   (b)    Upon the failure or refusal of any person to comply with the order within five days after the date thereof, the Fire Department shall report the same to the Mayor, who shall cause the premises to be inspected, and if such premises are then found to be dangerous, the owner, tenant, person in possession or agent shall not fail or refuse to place such premises in a reasonably safe condition.
