1620.01 FACILITIES; SUPERVISION AND CONTROL.
   No person shall demolish or wreck any building or structure by means of fire, nor shall the debris from a razed building be burned within the City, except in facilities owned and operated by the City, notwithstanding any other provision of these Codified Ordinances to the contrary. However, in making or constructing public improvements, such demolition or wrecking by means of fire or burning of debris from razed buildings may be permitted in areas designated and under conditions and safeguards established by the Fire Chief. In designating areas of burning and establishing conditions and safeguards therefor, the Fire Chief shall impose such rules and regulations or conditions as will ensure that such burning will not endanger other buildings and structures or the occupants thereof; that such burning will be done expeditiously; that adequate means are provided to control and confine such burning to the designated area or areas; that the public health and safety will not be endangered; that adequate measures are provided to clear and repair all adjacent sidewalks and streets after completion of the burning; and such other rules, regulations or conditions as the Fire Chief deems necessary, desirable or appropriate.
