(a) No person shall have in his or her possession any knife having a blade length of more than two and one-half inches, except for culinary purposes or when the same is a bona fide part of sportsmen's equipment incidental to hunting or fishing.

(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
