672.09 DISCHARGING FIREARMS AND AIR GUNS.
   (a)    No person shall discharge any firearm of any kind, or have in his or her possession any firearm for the purpose of discharging the same, within the limits of the City, except as follows:
      (1)   A police officer in the discharge of his or her duties.
      (2)   When reasonably necessary, in the actual defense of person or property.
      (3)   Trap or skeet shooting upon fields operated by private clubs or by individuals in conformity with the zoning regulations of the City, and at such times and places as Council finds to be consistent with the public safety.
      (4)   When reasonably necessary for the discharge of official public duties or as otherwise authorized by law.
   (b)   No person under eighteen (18) years of age shall discharge any air gun, spring gun, BB gun or paint ball gun within the limits of the City except under adult supervision.
   (c)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
