(A) (1) The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident within the limits of the city shall file a report as, and when, required by the State Department of Public Safety.
(2) A copy of this report shall be filed with the police officer.
(B) (1) All such reports shall be for the confidential use of the police department and shall be subject to the provisions of the Iowa Code § 321.271
(2) The city shall maintain a suitable system of filing traffic accident reports.
