A. The international fire code, 2018 edition, including appendices B through N, as published by the International Code Council, is hereby adopted as the fire code of the village, a municipal corporation, in the state of Illinois, regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided and providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of said fire code on file in the office of the village, a municipal corporation, are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in section 9-3-2
of this chapter. A copy of the international fire code, 2018 edition, shall be filed with the village clerk.
B. The NFPA 101 life safety code, 2018 edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Association, is hereby adopted as the life safety code of the village, a municipal corporation, in the state of Illinois, for regulating and governing building construction, protection, and occupancy features to minimize the effects of fire and related hazards in new and existing buildings, and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of said life safety code on file in the office of the village, a municipal corporation, are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in section 9-3-2
