7-3-5: SIGNS POSTED:
   A.   The chief of police is authorized to erect signs on any sidewalk, roadway, public way or public place prohibiting the riding of skateboards, bicycles or scooters or the use of roller skates or in-line skates or similar self-propelled devices by any such person as prohibited in this chapter, and when such signs are in place, no person shall disobey them. Any sign prohibiting the use of skateboards, scooters, bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates or similar self- propelled devices provided in this chapter shall state "Use Of Skateboards, Scooters, Roller Skates, In-Line Skates, Bicycles Or Similar Devices Are Prohibited", and below that "Village Of Peoria Heights, Ordinance No. 2003-1212". The letters of prohibition shall be two inches (2") in height and shall be printed in black with white background. The sign shall not exceed two hundred eighty (280) square inches in area.    B.   Signs posted on privately owned roadways and parking ways prohibiting the use of skateboards, scooters, bicycles, roller skates, and in-line skates as prohibited by this chapter shall conform to this section. It shall be the responsibility of the owner of the private property to erect a sign of prohibition in conformity with this section. (Ord. 2003-1212, 4-1-2003)
