133.01 OFFICE ESTABLISHED; DUTIES.
   (a)   Pursuant to the provisions of Ohio R.C. 733.262(A), effective July 2, 2010, when a vacancy exists in the office of the Village Clerk or Village Clerk-Treasurer, Council may pass by two-thirds vote an ordinance that will combine the duties of the Clerk and Treasurer to one appointed office to be known as the Village Fiscal Officer and that change shall take effect on the effective date of the ordinance or resolution.
   (b)   The Village Fiscal Officer appointed under this section shall perform the duties provided by law for the Village Clerk and Treasurer and other duties consistent with the nature of that office that are provided for by the municipal ordinance.
   (c)   The Village Fiscal Officer may be removed without cause either by the Mayor or by a consent of the majority of the members of Council or by a three-quarters vote of Council with or without the consent of the Mayor.
   (d)   The Council of the Village of Peninsula may abolish that appointed position Village Fiscal Officer and return to an elected office of Village Clerk Treasurer by passing an ordinance or resolution by two-thirds vote. (Ord. 71-2010. Passed 6-24-10.)
