An employee who believes he or she is a victim of a hate crime must report the incident to the Clerk or Village Board immediately. For the purposes of this policy, HATE CRIME means a criminal offense committed against a person or a person’s property because of the person’s race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability, or the person’s association with a person of a certain race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability.
