Unless you are given a written contract signed by the Village Clerk specifying an employment term, your employment is “at will.” This means that both the village and the employee have the right to terminate employment at any time or without cause. Nothing in this personnel handbook, nor any oral or written representation by any employee or official of the village, shall be construed as a contract of employment.
