§ 36.142 POLITICAL ACTIVITIES.
   (A)   (1)   Village employees may participate in political or partisan activities of their choosing, provided that village resources and property are not utilized and the activity does not adversely affect the responsibilities of the employees in their positions.
      (2)   Employees may not campaign on village time or in a village uniform or while representing the village in any way. Employees may not allow others to use village facilities or funds for political activities.
   (B)   Any village employee who meets with or may be observed by the public, or otherwise represents the village to the public, while performing regular duties may not wear or display any button, badge or sticker relevant to any candidate or ballot issue during working hours. Employees shall not solicit a contribution for a partisan political cause on village property or on village time.
   (C)   Except as noted in this policy, village employees are otherwise free to fully exercise their constitutional First Amendment rights.
